Hps Murphy's heroes

Post by gunny »

Hey folks. Just wondering anybody tried this game or the others of this series. It's individual man squad size tactical wargame. I like these and just stumbled across it.

I've seen other games like this. It might have potential. The only thing I've noticed about games like this though, is they seem to appear, and then get almost immediately get ditched soon after, as if they were some how cursed.
Wargame, 05% of the time.
Play with Barbies 05% of the time.
Play with Legos 10% of the time.
Build models 20% of the time
Shopping 60% of the time.
Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

I wanted to like it but it's just not that good. It's clunky and difficult to play, and as Mrs pointed out it doesn't appear to have been updated at all since its 1.0 release. I would avoid.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?

X-COM and Jagged Alliance series and their derivatives (UFO: Extraterrestrials, Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge) have been around for a long while.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Someone needs to make a digital version of SPI's Patrol.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

I didn't like the mouse control. No free roam, hard to tame. Otherwise it would have been ok. it's a shame the designer didn't use a common form of mouse navigation.
