UNREP

Post by bladesinger79 »

Ok. So, I have a habit of firing off far more ordinance than necessary. Concept of "make sure they are dead" applies to me. In one mission from the Standalone Missions called Operation Bass Drum, the US side has an AOE ship attached to the Ford CVBG. The game allows an UNREP order.

The question I have is, does this not only refuel such as AvGas for the aircraft, but replenish spent ammo aboard all the ships such as AIMs, Gun shells, and so on? In the old Harpoon games, the AOE ships were there for target practice.

I like this game, should have started on this years ago.

The one caveat is that the AOE/AOR needs to have the appropriate munitions loaded in its magazine. That is either done by the scenario designer in advance or if it's not set up you can do it in the editor. There are some standard packages to load (i.e. US CV/CVN 1990 etc) which give you most of what you need.

Don’t know how long it takes in game but on an Invincible CVS RAS of ammunition took an age even with VERTREP.
We’d move well out of area to do it

Don't know off hand but it takes a while. Probably faster than in real life but it is certainly not instantaneous - you can watch the munitions count down in the Unit status window if I remember correctly.
