Q about ambassadors

Is there a way to recall an ambassador back to my homeworld?
In my current game I have one with the inspiring presence trait who I think would be more useful at home.

You can't bring the ambassador home, which always led me to believe their traits don't impact your own colonies?

She has a large bonus to spies too; but anytime I assign a spy to that Empire they are caught immediately
literally as soon as I close the character screen I get a notification they were caught...
tried it a few times; same result?
I wonder is her bonus being applied to the the other empire?
Put me off using spies for anything other that cointel

If you wish to keep the inspiring presence away from 'others,' send the ambassador to the weakest 'other' empire. Far away. Or 'dismiss' the ambassador.

Just to update for those that might see this and wonder
If you right click on your planet you get an option to transfer characters to the world
So I was able to bring her home [:)]
