Starting strength & readiness for Belgium/Holland

Post by Ktonos »

Did 16.03 change boost the starting strength and readiness of Belgium and Holland units?

In my latest game I dow Netherlands which deploys a full strength army with readiness between 70-90%.
Belgium's army in Brussels same, full strength and good readiness.

Hi Ktonos,

No changes, and upon immediate DoW the Dutch Army should have a supply value of 0 and a readiness and morale of 50% each. If these units survive the initial DoW, especially if not attacked and are still at strength 10, then it is conceivable their readiness and morale will rise on a following turn as supply goes from 0 to its regular level.

Is this possibly the case? I just ask as I ran a test game and when I DoW these are the numbers I see from my end etc.

I didn't check the readiness at the time, but it was the same turn I DoWed, and the number depicting the strength was white, when I used to see it grey. If I am not mistaken grey strength numbers mean low readiness (below 59% I think?) while white ones are 60%+.

Regarding its actual strength value it seems I was mistaken as I believed it should be 7 when as you say it is 10.

Can you try a test game on your end to confirm that readiness was indeed at 70-90%? A simple Hotseat game with an immediate DoW should let you know if this can be confirmed.

Again I just ask because with the default game, 1939 campaign, it is as I've stated above on my end.

For reference, white strength numbers reflect a readiness >= 50%, grey strength numbers would be anything below that.

Checked with a single player game. Dowed Netherlands on first turn, army strength was white, readiness and morale both on 50% so everything ok. Seems I remembered wrongly both the strength and the starting rdyness
