Often. Usually not so many voluntary kamikazes, but one or two is fairly common. I vaguely recall someone posting a similar report for an allied pilot deciding to crash his aircraft into a Japanese ship.

Okay, but I was astonished to get such a report as Allied. Even being given the names of the Kamikaze pilots? Or should that simulate electronic warfare? (Listening to the enemy's radio frequency)
Besides, I'm invading Japan, it's April 1945 and there are hundreds of Kamikazes...

So your issue is with the Allies knowing so much detail - that is different from the occurrence itself. I agree the Allies would be unlikely to get that detail, but it is there to give flavour to the game action and it does not give away any Intel the Allies can use, so why not let both sides see it.

My next game will be the Japanese side. It'll be fun to receive such messages more often then.[:)]

Imagine that Allies intercepted a radio transmission where the pilot was shouting "My name is Doikawa K. You killed my farther! Prepare to die!". So it is perfectly plausible to know the names

I'm surprised you haven't seen a lot of similar messages relating to air combat - usually about ramming heavy bombers, and in particular B-29s.

My kids can quote practically all of the dialogue in "The Princess Bride". Too bad that was Andre the Giant's only major role. He was pretty cool.

And anything I ever read seemed to indicate that he was a stand up human too.
