First Time Start-Up Internet Connection required

Hello there,

I am a big supporter of Matrix Games for its DRM Policy. In times of "internet connection required during the game, otherwise it will close" and "limited activation", it is refreshing to see a DRM system that actually is trust based.

When I started the game earlier, I kinda clicked the prompt about "establishing internet connection" away rather quickly and only caught a glimpse. Shame on me.

My question: Is a first time internet connection absolutely required to start the game? I do play on my notebook some times and it would be a nasty suprise for me to install it away from home, only to be unable to start it because it requires an internet connection.

Can someone clarify this for me?

You absolutely do not need an internet connection of any kind to play the game, ever. Other than MP, of course

I believe the internet is just for multiplayer. Single player doesn’t require it.
