Going from Matrix purchase to Steam

Post by Bradley62 »

Should I delete game then download and reinstall with Steam or just install it twice over my original download?

This is a great question I would like to know also. I installed both Matrix full download and Steam version. Not sure which one to play or delete?

which ever one you want, i have two versions of several games installed[matrix/steam], usually for modding purposes.

i haven't installed the Steam version of CCBF, probably won't until some mods start happening. I suggest staying with the Matrix version, beta updates happen there first.

One thing that makes having two installs tricky these days is both Steam and Matrix versions install some files to the same folder in my documents/my games folder for some games.

As long as you install the full games to different directories[different names or drive letters] on your hard drive you should be good, the only hang up is what i mentioned above about the versions sharing the folder.

Yes i have played different saves for Steam and Matrix version, last time was for WITE. Played Germans on Steam, Russia on the Matrix version, mirrored the turns. It was interesting, the Matrix version was my modded version at the time.
