Maybe Bugs: West Coast USA

Post by sschnar1 »

Version: 1.05
Game Type: Solo
Player > Axis
AI > Allied

I finally decided to have play a game where Japan invades the West Coast USA.
I took the Aleutian Islands, All of Alaska with No Opposition.

Then there was Prince Rupert. Defeated opposition, but had a side effect.
For some reason, they had Defensive Fire Support (pop-up window)
with a Red line momentary going from the location Attacked to off the West edge of the map.
Originally I thought there was a Artillery unit near by, but a pop-up window?

As my beachhead expanded, other USA units appeared with the same result.

My Air units from Alaska came into play, and the they got a pop-up window stating Anti-Aircraft firing.

USA Naval Forces now enter the area and guess What? Then I attack these units and again a pop-up window about Anti-Aircraft.

I looked at the Manual and could not find any reference to this.

Questions:
1) Are these Pop-up Windows suppose to happen?
2) Do the USA get Defensive Bonuses when attacked on West Coast? (What about East Coast?)

Pop up windows such as these indicate that there are defensive support units in the area that can respond to some attacks. For example enemy defensive Anti-Aircraft guns that can respond to an air attack will do so if they are in range and in the area etc.

This sounds like it should be expected and can happen on any front really.

However if there are no Anti-Aircraft units in range then this could be a bug. If so, do you happen to have a saved turn where this might be repeatable?

Have an old game turn that shows the effect that is repeatable.
Please provide Email address.

Unfortunately I haven't received them, could you try sending it via WeTransfer instead as that will guarantee it doesn't get spam blocked etc.
