Issues presistent with 1.0.1

Post by catweasel »

Hello, first of all thanks for reviving the series, of which I played all titles.

Being aware this isn't covered in 1.0.1 release notes, I still want to bring it to attention, so hopefully it can be covered later on:

- suboptimal cover when placing units, especially .30 HMG: squad members are all over the place, but not taking cover behind rubble/rocks. I notice some squad members are highlighted green, others not. What's the meaning? As well a bit difficult to establish LoS for primary weapon: is the rock taking his LoS or not? According to the handbook, Shift should show the selected unit, but it didn't work for me. Only Ctrl and current mouse position works.

- difficult to adjust area to defend. E.g. I select NE multiple times, but it always jumps back to N. Tried right-click with order and left-click unit to adjust, no difference. After trying dozens of times, it suddenly works. Especially annoying during combat after having units repositioned.
Image

- soldiers rotating constantly clockwise
Image

- mouse-over info would be helpful, e.g. screenshot below. Red is dead, orange is wounded (sent home?), yellow is? Same for kills/hits and the other icons...

Hello,

I can answer one of those questions. Kind of....
I notice some squad members are highlighted green, others not. What's the meaning?

Those are cover markers which you have turn on as a Game Play Option,

Show Cover Markers:

When ON - You will see a colored circle under each soldier when they are in cover against known threats; Green (protective cover), Blue (visual concealment, but poor/no cover), No Circle (no significant cover or concealment).
