Soviet Union declares war in 1940!

Was playing as germans. Captured Poland and France. While i was preparing for "Seelöwe" the Soviet Union declared war on me.

As far as i know, historically the red army was restructuring and was not ready for war not before 1942.

Did you have Poland garrisoned? I thought that if you had at least 6 divs in Poland 10 hexes from Warsaw Russia would not invade. Did you have the game levels set higher than historical?

game level is set to historical. only 2-3 units in Poland. But its strange anyway. Cause Russia was not 100% ready for a war as far as i ve read.

Yeah you need 6 there and they will not attack. I think the game will just trigger an invasion, so you have to make sure 6 units are there. You can use the lower strength division you don't need to keep 6 corps there.

Thanks. I ve read this in the intro of the german campaign. Russia gain +1% toward the allies.
