Game error (draw map to buffer)

Post by FAHayek »

Actual text from error box pop-up:

'Error- (draw_map_to_buffer_dc): no more memory'

Not sure what's going on here.
Have updated the drivers on my video card.

I have the game patched up to 1.05

The error has happened multiple times. Sometimes I can play through various turns (against AI) and it pops up... sometimes I can't as it displays as soon as the autosave game loads. It seems to happen in 1942 oddly enough. (Maybe that's why it's saying its out of 'memory... due to all the units on the map?)

Thank you for any help!

Sorry to hear about the trouble, could you send me a dxdiag report for your system? The details could be posted here or sent to support@furysoftware.com

Here is some info on how to generate the report:

Thank you for the reply, Hubert.

I actually for the dxdiag report from a somewhat similar 'error' thread for the game in the forum. I ran that last night. It did not note any errors/ problems. I can run it again and post the results if needed.

That being said... it could very well be my laptop. I played last night for quite a while with no problems. The situation is... my laptop has 2 ways it can employ media/ resolution/ games/ programs. It has an integrated grahpics card and a second, stand alone. I ran the game with the stand alone graphics card and there were NO problems. Hopefully this is the issue (ensuring the game is ran via the dedicated card.) If it doesn't solve the problem then I am not sure 'how' to run the dxdiag for the dedicated graphics card... as I didn't see a choice for diagnosing it via the program.

I will play some more tonight to see if the issue persists.

Thank you again for your time/ help!
