How to get AA Red Devils New/Used?

Post by Rooster »

Hi guys, great news about the new game!

I want to get a new copy or buy someone's old copy of the current/old title. I live in the States... any suggestions?

AA:RDOA is now only sold through CDV in Europe. You could go to one of the online traders such as Amazon UK and order it. Alternately, you will have to wait until AA:HTTR is released through Matrix in July.

If you can only get it from the UK, 'GAME' appear to be offloading their stock at half-price (GBP14.99) so you might try them. Otherwise I suppose you'll be stuck with ebay or similar. Good luck.

So what is battlefront doing with the old stock?

Don't tell me it is getting destroyed.

BTW, does the CDV version have safedisk copy protection?

Most likely. We have yet to make a decision on that.

Yes it does.

How many people would buy the manual as a separate product?

Not sure what you mean. Everyone owning AA should already have one, do they?

As for the general question, it seems quite a few CDV victims took the offer to order the full CMBB manual from BFC, so there seems to be a "market" for a printed manual as an add-on product.

Well, if the manual was available on the CD as PDF file, then I suppose I might not buy it. I have both a laser and ink jet (if it has worthwhile use of color) to print with. Also, the loose pages might be more convenient for reading while learning the game. Finally, the larger print on letter size paper might be easier on my aging eyes than a manual with small fonts, etc... But then again, depending on price, I might consider buying it.

If the new game wasn't imminent (-ish) then us 'CDV victims' might be interested.

While we're on the subject of manuals, will the European version of the new game ship with a manual or will it also have to be butchered the way the old one was over here?

I hear the manual is a good read for information about Market Garden, which has always been a favorite. So I would be interested in acquiring one, even if I can no longer buy the game in the U.S. What would it cost?

I'd certainly buy a manual - can't stand pdf versions. Even when you print them out they're too big to read in bed!

Rooster, did you acquire a copy of the game? If not, try www.game.uk.com (web address of the company I mentioned above) and see if they could assist you.

Did the manual come in a PDF version?

Joe, if you're referring to the European version, it came with a small manual containing basic play information and the two tutorial levels, the rest of the manual came as a pdf file.

Beauty!

I have the demo but not the full game. I look forward to this new game.

Currently I can't understand the game play, so maybe somebody could email me the PDF manual.

As regards the gameplay (and not understanding some of it!), check out some of the other threads on this forum (Markshot's 'Protocol' thread contains some useful tips) and also check out 'The Drop Zone' at www.militarygameronline.com/DropZone for a lot more info.
