Early Game critique

Post by hansondavid4 »

It seems very easy to launch an early attack on the low countries for German. Basically rail one of the Panzer to the frontier on turn one (move the one that doesn't start on the rails to the west. Move the available corps in the west to the border. Netherlands falls on Turn 2. Belgium falls on Turn 3. The German infantry takes Poland out around turn 3 or 4.

It seems weird that you can declare war on the Dutch without the Belgians flipping to the allies side.

The French are in bad shape without enough units to put together a solid line. France pretty much has to pull the corps out of North Africa and the Italian border and the England has to send troops there on turn one to hold prevent the Germans from overrunning northern France before the French army mobilizes. Pretty much have to hope for bad weather come turn 4 or you are in a world of hurt.

This doesn't quite feel right but does give a somewhat historical fall of France. The Germans are in advanced positions for the first clear turn in spring 40 and France goes down in late June early July.
