Gifting game to a friend on steam

Hey folks

I want to gift the game to a friend on steam. He has CMANO so theoretically he has the discount.

How do I gift the game to him so he can use the discount?

Maybe steam wallet?

Thoughts welcome. I am spreading the Christmas cheer!

If you gift him the game you are paying for it, not your friend.

He can buy it with his discount or you can use yours to gift it to him.

Totally unofficial response here but that seems like a really good idea; your friend gets the game, and the discount, and you pay.
