How would you describe your politics?

Post by Snigbert »

After being involved in some interesting discussions on these boards, I'm curious which way the Matrix community leans politically...

Hmmm there is nooooooo way I will fit one of the categories.

I like expressions like groovy and faaaaaar out man.

I don't get angry if I get called A tree hugger.

I am anti gun lobby.

I am pro deathpenalty.

Bush might be a boob, but I had no objections to him beating up Saddam's toy army.

I like Sailormoon (if you are lucky you just won't understand that at all).

I say legalise drugs let the dumber portion of our gene pool die off.

I like women that act like women. I like men that act better than ordinary men though hehe.

I respect your right to believe in any religion as long as you never talk about it.

I am neither pro life or pro choice, they are both wrong.

I don't think most wargames make warmongers, but some games like Grand Theft do disturb me.

Where would you put me on that list?
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

I was thinking of describing middle of the road as 'I agree with some of the issues from each side'.

Just call me wanker;)

On foreign policy i'm conservative,as well as some social issues such as welfare to work.On the domestic side i can be described as believing in some social programs and am also pro-union.There are too many good ideas from both the conservative and liberal sides to limit yourself by blindly following one.

Remember its in the middle that change takes place;)

I'm neither left nor right, and as surely at least you are aware of, I have an opinion on everything!

The problem with this poll is that it´s mixing up things ;)
Left, Left, Left...European Socialism is the way to go!
I have no problem with the basics of modern european socialism, however, this kind of "socialism" is pretty much "middle of the road" these days and far from being "left, left, left" ;)

I'm curious which way the Matrix community leans politically...

You may add the " ... the US part of the Matrix community ..." for Europeans most of the above options don´t really apply or are mixed.

I'm a "Fiscal conservative, social liberal."

You don't take my money and I won't tell you what to do on your own time.

The Right doesn't want my money, but they want to tell me what to do. The Left wants my money but doesn't want to tell me what to do (more or less). The lesser of the two evils is the Right, because we have the Supreme Court to control the Right's attempts to "reach into our bedrooms." There is no such protection from the Left reaching into our pockets. So, I vote for the Right all the time.

I would say I'm a Libertarian, but I don't agree with their "close the borders" and withdraw the military from abroad stance.

Very wise.

Yeah, but to most of us American's, European Socialism = Borderline Communism. As inaccurate as that may be, it's a widely popular misconception. Perhaps I shoud have put something else for the description, but I'm not allowed to go back and change it.

Insightful, Snigbert :)

Compared to the U.S. political scale, I'm a left-wing neo-communist pink potsmoking hippie.

In Swedish terms, I'm a liberal (and that's to the right of the scale) ;) :p

You guys are all either funny or scary depending on the perspective.

Funny because you can sum up your politics in left and right.

Or scary, in that you think your right hand is somehow conspiring on your left.

Im a tree hugging pot smoker (occasionaly) but I can also see the silliness of being absolutely 1 way or the other. Against aggressive own the world foriegn policy, everyone shoule be able to have plants for personal use ummm

Im not really political, I just have my opinions

I vote for the politicians I can trust (usually greenies)

LaRouche is... odd. Just odd. Not in a "Aww, isn't that cute" kinda odd, but a "Don't touch it!! Don't touch it!!!" kinda odd.

I was a Republican, but they took a hard turn to the right and I was thrown clear to the left.

My politics come to me in a plain, brown wrapper from an offshore mailing source.
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Purely Anti-feminist.
Germany's unforgivable crime before the Second World War was her attempt to extricate her economy from the world's trading system and to create her own exchange mechanism which would deny world finance its opportunity to profit.
