Nations that are not on the map

Post by nox165 »

I see that nations for example like japan are not on the map. What effect do they have on the game?

thanks

Japan is definitely present in some of the beta AAR screenshots of the War Maps (in the top left).

My best guess is there would be events related to Germany's loss of Tsingtao and/or Pacific possessions. I can't comment on what effect they have, such as NM hit to Germany or any reduction in resources. I also don't know if they would be "destined" to join the Entente considering their relations with the British.

Pre-game diplomacy should be allowed i think. Effects should be seen after turn 2 (allowing a month to pass for various parleys etc).

For Germany-
1. Give up all Asian colonies for strict Japanese neutrality and benevolence. Japan may turn against Russia if Russia does badly before end of 1915 (say - Loss of Riga and Warsaw) and force Britain to part with some navy for guarding the east.
2. The usual Goeben cruiser ones but applied in turn 0 itself and effects seen on turn 3.

For UK-
1. Give up the 2 BBs of Ottomans for ensuring their neutrality. Usual one but on turn 0 with effects on turn 3.
(if Germany gives cruiser and UK gives BB, then Ottomans are delayed by 3 months; if Germany gives cruiser and UK denies then Ottomans join immediately; If no cruiser and no BB, Ottomans join in early 1915) - will ensure some fun for Multi-player with Game Theory.
2. Give concessions in India for raising more troops (but this may result in rebellions or mass revolts later on).
