How can missing bases be restored?

Post by HansBolter »

Ten years in and I am just getting around to using the editor to tweak my favorite scenario, #40.

This scenario has two bases missing that have LCUs deployed there. The bases are Camp Pendleton and Bremerton.

Camp Pendelton has a static fort unit and both have engineer units named for the location, but there are no bases present.

Can this be corrected in the scenario editor, or is it a pwhex file issue?

Bases are defined in Locations tab. Just copy some small US Base into empty slot, and modify X, and Y.

Maybe they will even shows up in ongoing game, as adding new industry to already existing Base would show up.

I just looked at this.

I don’t know that I would copy just any base over.
What I would do is make Scenario 40 line up with the other Babes scenario data.

You can open the editor twice to see the info in another Babes scenario.
Below is Between the Storms on the left side and Scenario 40 on the right.

In Between the Storms Bremerton was 499.

I would just go in and delete CONTINENTAL US and type in Bremerton and then fill
in the rest of the data just like Between the Storms or another Babes Scenario.

I went ahead and fixed Camp Pendelton in my scenario.

I used slot 530, it was empty and I pulled the data from Between the Storms.
It should be good to go for you as well. Location 226,77

Camp Pendelton is is an interesting base. I did my infantry training
there when I was in the SeaBees.

Thanks for the help guys.

Before seeing these replies I found the list you have shown me in the editor and what is strange is that while Bremerton is not on the list, Pendleton, NOT Camp Pendleton is on the list, but nothing shows on the map.

Will look more closely at what hex number assignment Pendleton has and try to use what you have shown me to sort things out.

Thanks guys. I noticed that after posting.

With the help outlined above I managed to get both bases copied in from another scenario.

I also discovered I was mistaken about the run time of scenario 40.

I could swear that the scenario description stated that it ends on March 31, 1946, but the editor shows it running to May 29, 1946.

Am planning to start my modified version as scenario 41 after completing my current game of scn 40 that is on March 5th, 1946.

I may actually have enough time now to be able to conquer Tokyo, and also more time to tweak scn 41 before starting it.

Again, many thanks for all of the assistance.
