Coming Soon: Desert War Update 1.0.4

Post by bcgames »

...very, very soon.

By popular demand, Saint Ruth has added casualties by the numbers. Combat losses are now presented as losses of men, guns, or vehicles; Desert War old timers still get their percentage losses. Advancing the football in Update 1.0.4.

Saint Ruth has also created a casualty-to-date roll-up.

Great work!

It´s a small addition but this one increases a lot the inmersion.
Awaiting Stalingrad, but now I´ll buy DW in Christmas sale... The effort must be rewarded.

Yes.

TOAWIV has longer legs and a broader reach. Operational Art of War was first published in 1998. Its robust editor attracted alot of folks who produced a large catalog of user-created scenarios. These scenarios span two centuries of warfare in multiple theaters of war. Desert War covers the War in North Africa between 1940 and 1943.

TOAWIV uses an IGOUGO system. Desert War uses a WEGO system.

TOAWIV employs an extensive and complex combat and logistics model. Desert War strives to have a simple and easily comprehensible combat and logistics model. Should the player be provided the most important information to make better decisions? We say--YES! Are we there yet? Working on it. Simpler and simpler is better we think.

Hi,

Great work! [&o]

Will we get loss estimates (subject to FOW) on enemy units as well??

BTW/ Just noticed in your initial post that the on screen info panels don't line up properly i.e. that the allied unit appears in a panel underneath the basic odds panel and the 3 DAK counters are in a panel underneath the Allied Header panel.

Regards,

Rob.
So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)
Hmmmm... big place ain't it??

I was thinking of giving the real (non FOG) Allied/Axis totals as that'd be interesting (to me at least) and doubt
it'd be giving away too much (?) [:)]

Mmmmm.... Dunno about that. At game end absolutely, but during game best not give too accurate a count for the other side. Just my opinion of course.
