SOLVED: Can not install hotfix patch

Game with update 3.0.2 is working on my computer (Win10). But if I replace the 3.0.2 exe file with the exe file from hotfix patch 3.0.2.1, the game does not start anymore. Can someone help please?

I could solve my problem: I have to start the MWIF.exe from the hotfix patches via command line. Starting from windows explorer was not possible.

Sounds like the path to the EXE in the desktop shortcut is no longer correct. The hotfix EXE should replace the prior one. If it was put in the game directory under a different name than MWIF.EXE, or if it was put in the wrong directory, then you would have the problem described.
