Growth of Factories for expensive items in Wir 3.3?

Post by matt.buttsworth »

I know it has been discussed, but it was a while ago and I forget the details. What are the rules governing factory growth versus cost of items produced in Wir 3.3? What if I changed production to more expensive items such as KV Tigers instead of PZIII, or Fockewolf's instead of Messerschmidt's?
I know production goes down with the change to more expensive goods but how quickly if at all does it recover? In other words, what is the real production cost in terms of less tanks, planes produced of producing more expensive and better tanks and planes?
I am starting a game so quick replies would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Factories will grow fairly fast no matter the cost, to a level of 75/cost. A lower cost item will grow faster to this point, but any factory will grow pretty quickly to this point. After this point, a factory still has a small chance of growing, but it is very small for anything, if you are lucky a couple of extra points by the end of the game, some won't grow at all. So a cost 9 item will grow to 8-9, while a 4 will grow to around 18, and a 2 will grow to 37.
