Feature Request: Disband (Really? Yes or No)

Warplan is a World War 2 simulation engine. It is a balance of realism and playability incorporating the best from 50 years of World War 2 board wargaming.

Feature Request: Disband (Really? Yes or No)

Post by mroyer »

Since the disband unit button (used rarely) is adjacent to the split unit button (used frequently) it is easy to click the disband button by accident. Once inadvertently clicked, there is no undo or way to revert the disaster (that I'm aware of) - the nation immediately loses the unit and half the production.

Could you consider adding a popup question on disband click: "Really, yes or no" so we at least have one shot at correcting the fumbled click? It's not like we're disbanding a lot - so it shouldn't add much user interface burden.

Thanks,
-Mark R.

P.S., there are probably other equally disastrous single-mis-click items, but this is the one I happened to run into first.

I'll put it on the list. They are fairly well apart specifically so you don't make the mistake.

I have disbanded a unit or two by error, just like the OP.

That is true, and I've clicked properly hundreds upon hundreds of times... but, the unlikely statistic of clicking the wrong one ultimately caught up with me [;)]

Thanks Alvaro.

I have also disbanded once or twice by mistake, fortunately not a critical unit when it mattered
The lark, signing its chirping hymn,
Soars high above the clouds;
Meanwhile, the nightingale intones
With sweet, mellifluous sounds.
Enough of Stalin, Freedom for the Ukraine !

I'll add a shift or control or alt key requirement than a yes no.

Yeah, that sounds great Alvaro - anything to protect the player from mis-clicking low-use, high-consequence items is great. I notice you've already done that in many other places.

Thanks again,
