PBEM++ error from my opponent

Post by exsonic01 »

During PBEM, I resinged and finsihed the game from file - End game now.

However, my opponent was unable to check his last turn due to following error message.
"Mark as Viewed error : 23 - Wrong Turn"

I'm not sure how and why this error happens. I resend the turn several times by selecting "End game now" several times, and from one of the attempt he was able to see the last turn. But still I have no idea why this occur and why he was unable to check his last turn.

I will let Rob know. Seems to be a few weird PBEM recently. Not sure if the latest Windows updates have messed with things. Do you gave the last game file?
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

It was PBEM++ game, so I don't have any files involved in my PC as far as I know. Right?

Exsonic01 -

Thanks for the report. This particular error is sent back by the PBEM++ server when we upload a saved game file it thinks it already has. This is the first time we have seen this particular error though and I'm at a bit of a loss to explain it. We automate all this in the background and having a "wrong turn" indicates that something pretty profound has gone off the rails in this case. The turn number is one of many pieces of info describing the game file that is being passed up to the server, and all of the code is pretty cut and dried. The fact that it is with a resigned game ought to be a big clue for me but I don't see the problem.

I'm going to open a ticket here with all these details but I'm not going to be able to address your problem immediately. I'm sorry but I think that game is now lost to your opponent.
