[FIXED] Game Crash watching scenario play out

Post by Tecmeister »

Morning,

I'm playing a home built scenario that has worked solidly in CMANO. Yesterday, it crashed in CMO while I was sitting back watching the actions play out, not giving any orders or course corrections. It's a very busy scenario, but I think I've already destroyed more resources than my adversary has left, making the crash that much more confusing

Attached is a zipped copy of the Autosave_20 just before the crash. I'm running on the same PC as CMANO, home built, Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, all SSD's, and WinX Pro with up to date patches.

Hopefully it gives you an indication of what isn't working right.

Thanks,

Tecmeister

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10

windows XP isn't supported, unless you mean windows 10?

without logs or a report it's harder to say, other than guess

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

Hey zakblood,

Yeah, it's Windows 10. Got off of XP years ago. DxDiag.txt attached.

Thanks,

Ran it for two hours game time at fastest time compression with no issues. I am going to rerun it on another PC as a check.

Ran it longer on my Surface Book 2. Its hung at 22:24:22 local time. It started slowing down around 22:22:00 I think. It might align with the ballistic missiles being fired by China.

I deleted the missiles and the game started back up.

I just noticed it started to slow again after some H-6's fired AShM's. Deleted them and it sped back up even more. SO my only point is it might be either the ballistic missiles or the AShM's having an impact.

Thanks All for looking into it. I picked up after the first crash auto-save and ran it for another hour or two before it crashed again. I'm running 1.00.11158.

I'll pay more attention to the missile launches. I only saw ALCM's and SLCM's launched before crashes, no ballistic missile launches in my crashes.

You probably have to switch sides in the editor to see them.

Added some tweaks for the next update that seem to sharply reduce the chance of this.
