Version 4.1.0.40 requires (for me) Avast exception

In case anyone else has issues and uses Avast.

Also, the Steam version is still crazy laggy, as to be unplayable. Even the main menu items takes a long time to register a selection.

Not a problem, as I have working Matrix copy installed!

Yes, Avast did trigger a warning for the "TheOperationalArtofWar4-UpdateComp-v4.1.0.40.exe" file. It sent it to their labs to be analysed, something which sometimes takes hours to return a false positive. So I took the chance and disabled it temporarily while installing.

In Steam, it might help if you disable the Steam Overlay for the game, in Steam under Manage > Properties. I don't think the Steam Overlay works for the game anyway and it might cause lag.

Anyway, lag is persistent. About 20 seconds just to quit the game, so glad am not dependent on Steam for this one.

I just tried the Steam version and I can't say I noticed any lag at all.
It would need deeper investigation on your system, but since you have no issue with the Matrix release let's not [;)]
