Opening save (sal) files directly from outside the game

The sequel of the legendary wargame with a complete graphics and interface overhaul, major new gameplay and design features such as full naval combat modelling, improved supply handling, numerous increases to scenario parameters to better support large scenarios, and integrated PBEM++.

Opening save (sal) files directly from outside the game

I've posted about this one before, but thought I'd dig it up again.

When double-clicking a save-game SAL file, it will open the game, which is neat, and I will get the following:

This leads me to think things are actually working, but when clicking Continue, I'm just brought back to the Menu screen. I can even see the game map in the background of the menu screen but no way to get there.

It would be cool if this worked, for people who play PBEM they could start the saves directly without having to go through the in-game Load dialog.
