strategic bombing with the Axis

Post by Laits »

Do you think it's relevant to use strategic as a German player? Perhaps it could be useful to hinder the rebuilding of the Soviet industry. Am I right?

I think it is - and indeed used it to great effect in the 8MP team game. See for example post 431 onwards here fb.asp?m=4485014 but look for any of the airwar and economic posts and you will find lots of extra information.

The choice of targets is important - and indeed see this on ideas of what perhaps should be targetted fb.asp?m=4610992 post 946 onwards.

An important part of whether strategic bombing is possible though is of course the air war. If your opponent post airgroups in the rear they can largely stop strategic bombing. But at least you have the satisfaction of keeping enemy fighters away from the front - and having to use them everywhere while you only need to find one hole in the enemy fighter cover to strike. By v1.11.03 also the flak had been buffed so much that many think the flak alone now is a deterrent to strategic bombing. But again I have written how I think maybe it can be overcome, or targets can be chosen which do not have over powered flak. As the flak is being nerfed again from v1.12 also expect this rationale to subside.
