Vichy loophole?

Post by jjdenver »

Hi,

39 scenario notes say French N Africa and Syria don't go Vichy if there is a CW or GE unit in Damascus or Algiers respectively. However this seems to make it too easy for allies to get control of Syria and French N Africa by just sticking a Brit corp in both cities. Thoughts?

Thanks

Already posted and debated about that - I personally like the Eurofront approach (tabletop game) where UK and France cannot enter the colonies of the other until France is Vichy'ed. (Due to wanting to keep colonies out of each other influence).

It's very easy to send off all the French to die in France, and issue some UK or Canadian troops in there.

Syrya ought to be fixed in 1.04, but for the whole French North Africa the Canadian can easily go sit in Algiers and it's pratically a Brit zone to be. Nowadays I just try to start games with the 'italian option' but still Italy needs enormous effort to dislodge from Algiers a full size, entrenched corp.
