1.05c testing. Start your engines!
Hi
Maybe this is because I am playing a game started with 1.05 official, upgraded to betas b>c (with the 3 sub max), but I had previously relocated my italian sub fleet to Misurata in Libya (4 subs). Italy is now at war and I wanted to move this subs, but I cannot.
They have 5 supply each. I tried to split the subs, but I am not able to move any of them, even separately.
Save available if you want
Regards
EDIT: Nevermind, next turn I can move them at will. Something off, but it is ok now

RE: 1.05c testing. Start your engines!
I want to replace a general in one of my HQ, (Kuchler), with a subordinate, to free Kuchler for a later assignment.
I have only 4 CP remaining, but a "subordinate" costs zero points. When I click to replace Kuchler with a subordinate I get a message that I do not have enough CP.
Is this WAD ?
If it is not possible to replace a general by a subordinate why does it appear in the available generals ?
Regards

I see when moving from port to port it has the checker in place. Ok I'll fix that in the code.
The general thing is a bug. I'll check it out.

But may I suggest to just build an HQ with a subordinate and send the HQ with the general elsewhere

I just read your post a little more closely.
You are saying you are at war with the Allies @ 100% status and can't move the subs out? Is that correct?
Is this A.I. game or multiplayer?
Try picking one and moving it to a sea hex next to the port.
If it is A.I. I can look at the save file.

Versus AI, Italy at war with allies, just after Vichy is created.
In the next turn I could move the subs, so maybe something I had not noticed.
They had no OP dots, so maybe the oil supply trade (that I had initiated a couple of turns previously) hadn't reached them yet ?
How can I send the zip file ? it seems too big to upload ?

I feel there is something wonky with general.
To have high mobility general makes your men stand to the last in most cases and die - which should not be the case. That's what Tenacity is for no?
Anything that is led by Manstein, when on the defensive, seem to hold their grounds til death.
If I use Model or Studen which have lower mobility, is quite fine.
I do not believe - and mostly I do not hope - that is working as intended.

Only the attacker gets the modifier. So if he sucks less chance. If he is better more chance

Holding a position is only happening IF they get a retreat result.

RE: 1.05c testing. Start your engines!
Precisely my point there!
Soviet comes in with let's say Mobility 6 leader, or even mobility 3! Germany has Mobility 9 leader. Less chance of retreat - as you said.
Which means, the German unit may buckle in and die on the spot instead of retreating behind another unit.
Thus - it is better to have a -BAD- mobility general for defence. Which brings in micro - keep 2 HQ on the spot, and move them back and forth to position high mobility one for attacks (IF you want hexes) and shift that one back after you attacked and bring low mobility HQ ahead to not eat the vicious counterattacks to come with just the frontal unit!

You generally don't want to retreat because it makes the retreating unit more vulnerable to taking more damage and being dislodged. if you want to retreat put a smaller unit as a speed bump.

Carriers can react to enemy fleet incoming even in Heavy Rain.
I believe that is a bug as normal planes cannot fly from the ground, figure out CVPs.

RE: 1.05c testing. Start your engines!
Why do we have to cancel a trade agreement every time we want to change quantities ?
I have a german trade to Italy of 15 oil per turn. I want to increase it to 20. Why is not possible to just "add" 5 to the existing trade ?
(Quality of life issue, no bug)

I'll see if I can change that. It is a matter of filling the screen with buttons that I don't want to do. But I have an idea.

Not sure if it was addressed already but in 1.05 lend lease to Russia has to use Soviet merchant marine (and relative escorts). It refuses to use Allied ones.
I do not believe that is intended.
