Victory conditions

Post by lwarmonger »

Currently playing a PBEM game as allies. I've conquered Germany and Austria... yet the ottomans NM is just now dropping below 50% about 4 months, and a major Russian offensive, later.

Really... victory conditions for the extent should be the surrender of Germany and Austria. Conquering the ottomans too is just tedious.

Yeah, historically speaking Ottomans would not continue to fight, unless Mustafa Kemal Atatürk had took over and began the Turkish War of Independence.
(It will be really nice if Treaty of Sèvres or TBMM's took charge of Turkey can be in-game events like the Bolshevik Revolution, although these events all happened after 1920 historically.)

Currently in the game, the Ottomans often become the hardest among Central Powers to be beaten. This is mainly due to the fact that both Russians and British do not have a large amount of force concentrate on the Ottoman front; they are also in a very bad supply situation until later in the war. Besides, Germany and A-H have some really effective National Morale penalties (especially the North Sea Blockade) while the Ottoman NM is hard to bring down.
No conquest without labor.

You can conquer the entente by beating britain and france or france and russia... dont see why, if 2 of 3 of the real majors for the allies are down you win a decisive victory that doesnt also hold true for AH and Germany.

Of course there is no rule that you have to keep playing once the result is inevitable. Most players do not particularly enjoy keeping going once they are obviously losing, so you can always suggest ending early to your opponent!

Hi

The Victory Conditions are that the Entente have won if Germany surrenders or if its National Morale falls below 1%, so this suggests something isn't working.

To help me investigate, when you say that you've conquered Germany do you mean that you've taken all its capitals and it has surrendered?

If that is the case then I think I can see an issue in the script, if you could confirm that would be great. [:)]

Thanks

Confirmed as an issue. The Russians took Berlin, and Germany surrendered. This was after austria surrendered as their national morale fell below 0. Ottomans kept fighting for at least 6 turns afterwards until I took constantinople and they finally surrendered.

PBEM using the server.

Thanks, there's a small change needed in the script, sorry about that.
