What to do with Siegfried Line Axis units

Where do you put them after France falls? Are they useful for Barbarossa or do you just park them in French/Belgian ports to block Allied invasion later?

They're perfectly good units they are just garrisoned at the start of the campaign. Do whatever you want with them! If upgraded and full Corps they are as deadly as the rest of your Army.

OK - I see that command now. Different from SC-WiE where you have specific garrison units and the concept of entrenchment.

On a related topic, how many units do you need to garrison France and low countries? Two issues: partisans and Allied invasion so more will be needed later for sure.

France and low countries do not spawn partisan units (like ussr or Spain). Only rail sabotage, but this is repaired automatically, so no need for wack a mole.

Of course if you want to prevent invasion or strategic bombardments, you will need garrisons and air units.

I'm guessing the AI won't invade until '43 or even '44?

I never left Western Europe unguarded, so I don't know if you can get away with not garrisoning early war.
