Post by friend »

Hi all,

Couls someone please help.

CMO hangs on the green globe loading screen. Have waited 30 minutes for the game to load.

How can I play her please?

Yours faithfully

Hi,

Let's go through the checklist:

* Is the OS fully updated? Graphics drivers updated? Direct-X 9 installed?
* Is Command running as admin? (ie. prompting you "are you sure you want to run this program" when you launch it)
* Are Steam overlays disabled for Command?
* Is Direct-Write disabled on the Steam client?
* Are all other applications (and especially hardware-helper apps like MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner etc.) shut down?
* Are you using Norton antivirus? (This POS is very frequently silently blocking file updates)

Thanks for the list, that's a lot of work for a non-computer savy person to do. I wish the game came with a warning...

Have tried 3 times to load Direct X-9 and a number of dodgy programs appeared to start loading.

Where is a safe place to download what ever Direct X-9 is please?

You don;t need to download it, the DX installer is located at [CMO]\PreRequisites\directx_Jun2010_redist if you are using the Matrix installer/updater. There, one of the files is DXSETUP.exe . Run that and it should re-install the necessary DirectX version.

See here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1374061499

"In your Steam Library, right click on the game, click Properties, and make sure the Steam Overlay box is unchecked. If you have UI sluggishness/hangs this is probably causing most of it."

I had just had this issue for some reason, my laptop was fine but my desktop was stuck with the rotating globe. I deleted the command.ini and that solved the issue for me.
