A Couple of Questions

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

A Couple of Questions

Post by canuckgamer »

I couldn't find answers in the manual or the strategy guide to the following:

1. I moved a couple of Russian units through the Finnish fortifications to the northwest of Leningrad and thought that would destroy them but nothing happened. Does this mean that the only way to destroy them is the usual of advancing in to that hex as a result of combat?

2. I have an Italian destroyer surrounded in an Italian port. Since you can't attack it with naval units with surface combat I have been bombing it with aircraft from a CV. After the first turn of air attacks my opponent did build up the DD but not to full strength. What effects do my adjacent ships have on his ability to reinforce the DD?

Thanks.

Hi

1. The fortifications are permanent, so cannot be destroyed. Best to then hold them as they make a good defensive position for you.

2. They will reduce port strength over successive turns, reducing his ability to reinforce the DD in the medium term.

I wish I could use the Finnish fortifications but unfortunately they are all facing Leningrad.
