Graphics issue- Black boxes

Post by dpabrams »

I have Win-7 Pro 64-bit. I get these black boxes that follow the cursor around in the editor. Any ideas?

Also win7 here, I get these sometimes. I think they are artifacts of the Tool Tips procedures ...

I had to finagle around the Tool Tip timers to get them where I liked: my current settings:

Under drop down menu "Play --> Player Options" (also, you have to exit the game and restart for these setting to take "full effect" I've found....

Try reinstalling DirectX:

Or run the DXSETUP.exe from "The Operational Art of War IV\redist\directx_June2010_redist" in your installation.

Sorry that didn't help,
my only advice is, that on my machine when this happens,
moving the mouse makes the box disappear.

It doesn't really fix it. It simply reduces the chance it appears and if it does it reduces the time it's up. So you get no tooltips. Not sure what to do for people who want tooltips. Personally I find them annoying.

For me, the tool tips are helpful in that it is easier to see hex location, and also Supply % easier.

My eyes are old, cataract in one, so for those it ie easier for me to see.

YMMV!! <H>

I'm sorry to hear about your cataract my friend. The last time I had my eyes checked ( about 5 years ago now ) the Optomitrist said that he found cataracts in both of my eyes but they were too small to treat and that I should get my eyes checked again in about 2 years and by then maybe something theraputic can be done. I see small thin white clouds drifing back and forth through my vision continuously now. Maybe it's time I got 'em checked again. I'm hoping that my medical maijuana will prevent any further damage. I started out with Larry OG and next I tried Purple Haze and then I went to where's my bike and now I'm trying Sonic Screwdriver and I think I've found a strain that likes my body type....genes and whatnot. It's not about getting a buzz on, this strain is mostly indica instead of sativa so it's more about melting into the couch. Being perfectly relaxed. No more PTSD for a while. It's working for me. I used to go into rage mode at the slightest twartation but now about 3 months later I'm more mellow. My language is cleaner. I'm learning to not sweat the small stuff. To pick my battles. But I ramble.

Ah yes indeed, I am fortunate that only one of my eyeballs has that cataract thing, I do wish that more smokey-dokey were here, b/c a few years ago when I was lucky to have legal, I was smoking the TOWN on that, cured my psoriasis even and made me see better too. Alas, now I am only able to get some "Regular" under the counter, and that stuff don't help AT ALL, need the good good :) Ah, well, such is life :) but I do think that shutting my library down lately is WAY over the top, I mean .. COME ON man, shutting my library down is cause for .... RAGING i guess LOL I mean, what we gonna do? Just get old, I guess LoL At least I know my Library of America will still deliver, waiting for next edition here. Ok, well, I am rambling now, Thanks man! D
