Diplomacy Bug?

Intimidation does not seem to be working properly.
a) If one gets a message that relations deteriorated drastically actually there is either a shift of status in favour of the bully or no change at all and
b) and if one gets a message that there was a shift in his favour no change is recorded in the country status.
Any ideas?

Influence (Bubbles) shift a country in your favor via diplomacy and negotiations.
Intimidate (Fists) is basically... if you don't do what we ask we are going to burn your country to the ground. It has a small chance of working which will shift a country in your favor a lot or a huge chance of failing which shifts the country in the enemy favor.

Diplomacy is only in there really for Multiplayer games if people want it. I HIGHLY recommend not using it especially vs the A.I. because it creates such a drastic unbalance in the game. If either side manages to get Norway, Sweden, Yugoslavia, Spain, or Turkey on their side it is a large game balance shift.

I only have it in there because players wanted it.

I totally understand the mechanics of diplamacy option and your point that it shouldn't be used in games against the AI (which is not the case; I am playing against a human opponent).
I am trying to point out that the messages one gets in the interface do not correspond with the changes in the status of the country and that is why I am asking whether there is bug. I hope I clarified my question.
