Illiterate Partisans?

Post by sillyflower »

Playing vs AI in game started in .05 then continued when updated to .06, I keep getting partisans all over the place. Both the original notification (listed top rt of screen at start of turn) + appearance of actual counters.I was even getting quite a lot of partisans appearing only a couple of hexes away. At least that meant that I could reach the even in very bad weather [:D]. I think some generated on top of or adjacent to my units (per the text notifications) but they seem to have imploded because they could not be seen when I clicked on the icon to go to their location.

I was therefore overjoyed to read in the updated manual that any land unit protects from patisans in 6 hex radius.
Not sure when this was introduced - not in .06 changelog. I therefore fear that either partisans simply cannot read your excellent new rule, or are simply deciding to ignore it.

I was also relieved to read that partisans can no longer conduct seaborne invasions, but I'm still baffled about their ability to build and use armoured and airforce units.

I would really hope to see a response from the dev that agrees or not that partisans are currently broken (like the 6 hex rule that you cite).

The six hex radius, is the six hexes around the hex of a unit. So only the six adjacent hexes. Radius is somewhat misleading in this case.

No, radius simply incorrect. If we don't have common definitions for words, clear communication is impossible. [8|]

Ow well, we got this sorted out now.

Partisans were never a big problem for me. Yes, they could get somewhat tedious and I made some suggestions to make things better (all IMHO of course), but I could live with them. Next patch the frequency in which they pop up will be dialed down significantly. Fine with me.

In the new 1.00.06 manual that is up currently.

Any land unit will protect vs partisans in their hex and the surrounding 6 hexes. Countries with scorched earth will generate partisan units in addition to damaging rail hexes and production. Partisans may not use landing craft.
