Carriers and CAP

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Carriers and CAP

Post by canuckgamer »

I somehow mistakenly posted this in the mods forum so reposting here..

If I set the aircraft on one of my CVs to CAP will those aircraft escort aircraft from another CV or land based aircraft that are conducting naval or tactical missions?
Secondly will aircraft on CAP intercept any tactical or naval attacks by the enemy within range?

Yes, if you want to escort or intercept then being in Combat Air Patrol (CAP) is the mode you want to be. Mix works as well.

However, you just want to make sure you are also then set to CAP->Auto or at least Intercept or Escort if you want it to only perform specific duty. Naturally if you set your mode to CAP->Ground then the aircraft will not respond as interceptors or escorts.

You'll also need the appropriate number of intercepts or escorts left for the carrier as well, e.g. they can't be at zero.

Hope this helps,
Hubert
