Orchard blind hexes

Post by rmmwilg »

Hi, am playing the CG 82nd at Amfreville, where there are plenty of in-season orchards, but they are not at all providing the blind hex behind them to fire from a higher elevation as they should. I believe I've come across this before, but this is the first time, that it's really obvious!

Also, is there no graphic associated with Flamethrower and DC attacks, like there is for other attacks? Is that what might be causing the FT crash bug?

Interesting. I will investigate this. Could you give me some more details about the Orchard situation, or perhaps a picture or save file?

This is a bit of a rough image but hopefully gets the point across:
- The GE MMG (circled red) on a level2 hex does have LOS per the green arrows which should clearly be blind hexes behind Orchards, given that it's at a higher elevation than they are; however,
- It does not have LOS (Red arrow) to one of the VP hexes which is clearly more than two hexes beyond any orchard hex that could cause a blind hex.

Yes this a LOS Bug. I'll make a note of this for Peter to fix when he gets back in shape.

Tks Paullus,

If I may ask - how is it that only one man, Peter is the programmer for this game? Is there not a way to get others involved? I mean this is, now a commercial product, and it seems like so much more business and a much larger customer base could be generated by fixing the present bugs and upgrading instead of waiting on just one guy who has an unrelated full-time job elsewhere. It just seems bizarre to myself and other fans who have commented alike (some, sadly not very politely).

I can't say why fully but there are a lot of reasons where being badly treated by fellow programmers has a lot to do with it.

Ah. Well yes, that would do it [:(]

So what's going on with Peter, obviously as much as you can divulge? How can we pray for him?

Peter was hit hard by illness almost a year ago and hospitalized. He is home and making good progress in recovery. It will take some time though before he is fully back. I am not putting pressure on him as I feel that would make things worse. But be hopefull and give it time.
