Update with error, then can't update further

Dear forum,

I just installed WITP vanilla, tried to update for the first time.

during install, I get "The following files can not be updated: [...] update.exe"

Close all other application and choose retry"....

I can't retry, and the game is surely not asking me to close the update application. I cancelled, which led to the updates continuing. Now, when clicking update, I get "failed to load update data file - possible client/data mismatch"

Help would be appreciated. To put it carefully, this is a rocky start.

Good news,

It actually updated, so it seems like I don't need the updater anyway anymore. Still awkward....but acceptable.
