AFTER the lockdown

Post by MrsWargamer »

Are ya reeeally in a hurry to go anywhere after the lockdown?

I'm planning to stay in for a week AFTER the lockdown ends, as I have NO plans to be part of the mob scene.
The lines will be epic, and I don't think humanity will suddenly behave logical.

I need to see an eye doctor. Oh, yeah, like they will suddenly become 'available' just because the lockdown has ended.

Air travel is going to be only for the rich it appears. Cruise ships, well as if I could afford a cruise to begin with. I have no desire to ride the GO train any time soon to the big city.

I think 2020 is a total write off more or less.
I've run out of tank models itching to be built.
Currently building a small airforce.
I'm expecting to suddenly binge on wargames soon.
If not building a model railway
Looking forward to sunny days on my bike. I don't need to wait actually, although the weather could be warmer (damned polar vortex).
Wargame, 05% of the time.
Play with Barbies 05% of the time.
Play with Legos 10% of the time.
Build models 20% of the time
Shopping 60% of the time.
Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

Yes in a massive hurry to go places when this ends. But sadly I don't think this is ending (in terms of any sort of normality) for some time. I should have seen Prague (first time), Berlin, Jersey and Florida this year. All but long since abandoned. It sucks.

But most of all I desperately need a haircut [;)]

I'm not going to lie, I kind of laugh-snorted a little bit when I read Florida at the end of your list. One of those things is not like the others [;)] [:D]

That being said, there are some portions of Florida I love dearly. I would love nothing more right now than a trip to the beach in the panhandle once this is over. Just never lumped it in with the likes of Prague or Berlin [8D]

The wife and I will stay quarantined as we both think it's not over yet.

Didn't you say that you had some recreational activity planned in Belgium? Or was that with a Belgian? Or "Belgian rules" something or other?

My wife and I had plans to spend a couple of weeks in the UK, but I doubt if we'll get there before well into 2021. I can't conceive of flying until there's a vaccine and even then I'll have my doubts.

So it looks like car trips for us in the foreseeable future.

That is only a problem if you have hair. Just put some Nair in the shampoo.

The wife and I will stay quarantined as we both think it's not over yet. I worry the second wave will close the hospitals again! My cancer surgery is in June and I can't afford to get sick. If the hospitals close it will kill me for sure...

You might want to research antabuse and cancer. It may surprise you.

I think that you might prefer the beaches in Barcelona. You might like all of the heavenly bodies - but your wife might not!

Beaches? The only beach visit in that list would have been Jersey (depending of course on the weather). Berlin and Prague would have taken in the history and, as much as I can't resist the sea normally, there is absolutely no question of wasting time on beaches in Florida. We have Mickey to say hello to!!

Different locations for different reasons. No I would not travel to Berlin or Prague (history and culture) for the same reasons I would travel to Florida (fun) [:)]

I desperately want to go back to Berlin (and see Prague) for the history - I can't express adequately just how much I loved Berlin, a city like London where one can literally feel the history. Incredible place.

But Orlando Florida is my favourite place on this planet. This is where my family have spent our happiest times, from when the little warspites were toddlers through to young adults. A truly magical place [:)].

I couldn't agree with you more whole-heartedly. Probably my fam's favorite place on earth also, although we don't have any mini-me's. [:)]
