LOS Tool

Hey there.

I would like to ask for a hotkey for the LOS tool. I use it all the time when I am trying to be clever and having to manually click it is actually quite annoying.

Especially when you finally find the ONE absolutely perfect position on an almost flat, featureless field. Often you just might loose it after having moved your cursor all the way to the right to disengage the LOS tool, before you can actually give your unit the order to go there. So often you have to do it more than once, just to be sure. That gets old fast.

It would be a (presumably) quick and easy fix.

A "Hotkey" already exists for the LOS tool. try using the "L" key.

As you say "It would be a (presumably) quick and easy fix.". It cannot be much easier than that to sort your problem

Perhaps you need to bring up the menu with all the "Hotkeys" before you run into more simple issues that do not exist.

Or we could just politely reply, and say "Page 62-66 of the manual has all the keyboard shortcuts". There, not so hard was it?

Truth to be told, manual might not include more recent features.

I will say that any player who thinks any fix is quick and easy is just asking for snark back. Double tru dat if the fix was already available and "easy" to find.

Okay fine, but I also believe that pointing out something obvious speaks volumes in of itself. He's probably already read the reply and understands the error. Smug and disparaging replies actually reflect worse on us as a community.

Again, there are two lessons then. He learned something new about the game and to not so easily dismiss making changes in code. It borders on a lack of respect for the amount of work that goes into a game like this.

Another useful trick is pressing the 'ESC' key to get back to the LOS preview mode, after you've clicked on the map to see the high resolution LOS area.

I took two lessons home.

Lesson one: I had overlooked the key in the in-game list. I had looked for it a good while ago, when I bought this game and didn´t check again. I was wrong. Mea culpa.
Lesson two: No matter how innocent and polite you phrase a `request`, there are people capable of finding offense in anything, if they just try hard enough.

Have fun doing the latter. I am off to use the feature I was initially asking for.
