SHQ

Post by Sarcazmo »

I am currently reading through the manual. More or less from the first page references are made to these SHQs. While I realise it's a HQ of sorts and could probably figure it out eventually reading the manual. I found the whole name for OHQ but I fail to find the SHQ spelt out. I am guessing it's the smallest unit of HQs? Maybe a SupplyHeadQuarter?

I realise I have probably read past the whole name/definition but I just can't see it.
My problem is that I can't absorb anything from the manual unless I know exactly what a SHQ is :P

Most humbly,

Is it Supreme Headquarters? That's what I've been calling it in my head.

Hah! Found it, Strategic HQ! Nothing works better than giving up and asking for help to manage for yourself...

5.10.3.1. strateGIC hq (shq) These are of the utmost importance. The SHQ is the link between your economy and your military. The SHQ receives production (and Recruits) from the Zones and you can use those Items to send supplies to Units and to Raise new Formations. An SHQ should have a Commander. Its Commander can provide the High Command Skill Roll used by any Unit in combat.

So each zone has itl’s own SHQ? I too am having trouble getting a handle on the concepts without knowing what exactly a SHQ and an OHQ are and their differences.

Ah, ok I think I see....there should probably be an explanation of these HQ”s earlier in the manual, like at the beginning. I”m still not sure about the OHQ.

If you look at your resources on the left tab it will say SHQ 1 it is where your resources go from zones too so you can use them and from where they leave to go to units and to things in the zone. You can also use the replenish soldiers to have soldiers trained there to get the 10xp and then they will be sent out as reinforcements to units or can be used when Raising formations to make a unit with starting experience.

It is supremely important as it is where your resources are stored and sent out.

OHQ is operation HQ I think it is created when you raise a formation that inst independent having them near your units in that OHQ gives the leader of it a chase to roll for bonus for the units and can give you some very nice bonuses

Each SHQ supports a player specified group of zones. In most small games, and in early large games, you will likely have only one SHQ.
