How does SHQ send items to other zones?

Post by jpwrunyan »

I ask because mine isn't.

I need raw resources in my neighboring zones in order to finish projects and get supplies to my troops.

I have items going into the SHQ. The SHQ has a stockpile of every basic resource. But my other zones just don't receive anything. It's so bad I just spent all my money buying fuel and a few other essentials just to *make sure* I had more than enough. Still nothing goes to the other zones. For example one project complains about a lack of machinery even though I *have* machinery at the SHQ zone. Ditto for fuel, metal, etc. Do cities and zones need to be connected to the SHQ via logistics points?

This problem destroyed my game. I couldn't get anywhere. I looked at the logistics map every way I could but somewhere along the line everything simply shut down with no warning. My SHQ/capitol used to push logistics points solidly to the neighboring cities and now it just fades out. Is there some kind of turn duration? Like would it take more than 5 turns? I just have no idea. I've messed around with the traffic signs. I'm grasping at straws for an explanation.

I would suggest you to watch DasTactic video of Logistics, you are having the same problem than I had today, what happens is than there aren't enough trucks on your capital, so even if you have more bases or truck stations along the road, since you dont have enough trucks to get the resources OUT of the capital, they're stuck there and the troops/zones doesnt get what they request, so, you have to nationalize the truck station and upgrade it ASAP.

Can we assume you have that SHQ supplying all the neighboring zones?
Because one possible issue is that item transfer between different SHQs has to be done manually by the player.

If you have only one SHQ it might be a bottleneck issue, i.e. not enough trucks to transports all the stuff needed. Because indeed « cities and zones need to be connected to the SHQ via logistics points ». As far as I can tell, provided you have enough truck points, transfer of resources only takes one turn.

Edit: I should really learn to type faster...

If in doubt, BUILD MORE TRUCK STATIONS.

I would suggest to have the truck station on the capital as n+2, every other zone n+1 and in the road between as n. So you always have enough trucks [;)]

This is good advice.

Most of the issues I've had with starvation have come down to not having enough truck stations running logistics.

Toogle the "bottleneck overview" on.This helps allot.

Also your capitol zone needs allot of logistical capacity. You can build more than one truck station in it if needed.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Ironically, it was a truck station that was having weird logistics issues getting built between zone 1 and zone 2.

I did use bottleneck view but it was giving me weird feedback... like normal logistics points diminish in a way that makes sense, but at one point it was like the logistics distribution fell off a cliff. The bottleneck view had bold green lines up to a point and then nada. It mystified me because I just didn't understand what it was telling me (I still don't think I do).
