I have a game going on as Allies and I just found out just how easy is to damage Axis naval units in ports. In a totally unrealistic way I was able to damage U-Boots in ports (1-2 damage) along the Atlantic coast with motor torpedo boats receiving no damage in exchange! [:-]
I also found out that my British subs were able to damage repetitively heavy naval units in port (again 1-2 damage) and again receiving no damage in exchange!
. This needs to fixed. I have been studying WWII for the last 20 years and very few attacks by subs were successful. The defenses in those closed waters are just to much for the subs to maneuver in time and avoid the torpedo nets, chains, subs chasers etc..., Kaleunt Prien dit it in Scapa Flow in 1939 but that was it! The main battle fleet must be secure in any port against U-boot/sub attacks. - I suggest to increase the port defence against subs to max levels so they gets virtually destroyed if they attack.
- I also suggest to increase the port defence against motor torpedo boats to max levels so they gets virtually destroyed if they attack.
