Steam keys on steam release?

I know this isn't really a suggestion, just wasn't sure where to put it.
If I were to purchase the game on the matrix site, on/if there is a steam release, will I get a steam key?

yes, you will get an option to link your steam account to your matrix/slitherine account and you will be able to play it on steam

Do you link your Steam Account to your Matrix Account OR do you link your Matrix Account to your Steam account? (Yes there is a difference)

Or do we get a normal Steam Key? What happens with the game in my steam lib when the linking of the accounts is broken?
