Chat function not working - refers to Victory Conditions

HI there, for a while now, when I try to send my PBEM opponents a chat message, the box pops up with the heading "Victory Conditions" and I can't type anything. I am receiving their text messages ok but cannot reply. Appears to affect new games, old games, and anything in between.

Any thoughts on how to fix?
(and apologies to my opponents for appearing taciturn)

UPDATE: It appears to have come good, at least for a new game I started today. The Victory Conditions heading still appears however.
