[solved]how to transport a motorized infantrie without any fuel back?

i just scrapped every truck and now they walk back through the desert, but there has to be a better way, right?
they where really far out and i think replacements from the shq would never have reached them.

Select the unit, then Unit Admin > Downgrade. You can choose a formation without transport.

They still move as leg infantry.

If some of your units nearby have fuel and supplies, I do not know a way to cross-level supplies between units.

what happens to the trucks if i downgrade? when scrapping i get some ressources. when downgrading do they go back to the shq and i have dont have to build trucks the next time i create a mechanized infantry?

The next round equipment and troops are returned to the SHQ to satisfy the new OOB--and replacements are requested if needed for the new formation.

As an aside, Trucks are used in Motorized Formations. APC's are used in Mechanized formations.
