How is it better than Open General?

Post by FAA »

Apart from newer graphics and much fewer maps and units, how is it different from Open General? This formula of one abstract unit per hex without any sub-units is quite dated when we have games like Gary Grigsby’s or TOAW IV. Why should I even consider buying it over Open General which is free?

In Open General I can play any conflict between 1700s and today, with amazing WWI and Franco-Prussian War, there are modules for ancient and future warfare, and for WW2 you probably have at least 100 campaigns available. How can this compete?
