The Germans are quite confident in their abilities to push recon elements so far forward!CAPT. Danilevskys KV's should push them back and keep them at bay:but so bold a tactic.- Is Rommel still in the desert?POLITICAL OFFICER MOTHER .NKVD.

I hope the Soviet Armour is thicker then their heads.
First shots fired for a hit at long range, displacing a SO Engineer unit from its comfy ride. Soviet tanks are primarily taxis, so what they can be used for now i don't know...

The southern sector through the forest show the general thrust of the german advance.PANTHERS with a fast moving sdkfz 221 recon force scouting toward the southern victory hexes.The town has an audacious attack straight down the main straight with stug/pz IV's? !!!!.incomming!!!!!!!!

Severaly halftraks in hiding in the woods, scared to make a dash for southern V hex. Panthers have the area secured. The centre of town awaits reinforcements after a air raid. Where were my 88's???

LT. FYORODOVICH does a dash for the southern victory hexes and after deadly return fire from the overwatching panthers which fail to hit his ba60 scout car :the area is secured.URRRAH!!!The green boys from Siberia laugh after mistaking their own outgoing artillary barrage into the dead heart of town as incomming,however sounds are deceptive and they get enemy120mm morter fire and pay the consequences for being slow and exposed. Russian air gets into the act with a well executed attack on the central walled cornfield objective which the stug class AFV's now inhabit after their brazen blitz through the centre of town.
PRAVDA:Heroic deeds in action by lt.fyorodovich earns him the Order of Lenin after defeating a troop of german panther tank destroyers in his russian made ba 60 scout car.

Panther unit commanders, after being embarresed by a lunatic BA20 recon vechile have taken their anger out on several tanks in the forest. Scratch a tank company. Soviet Partisans have been seen in the village, spotted looting the local watering hole.

Soviet forces are pressing forward as best as can be.Well sited Stug class AFV's control the approaches to the town and the eastern crossroads as well as the immeadiarte objective area; after the dash through the village surprising the local partisan leader who didnt have time to react,as a consequence marder class vehicles have done quick support and have eliminated any chance of a quick stop action through the russian forward areas by our farmer comrades.
The panther company assulting the sothern objectives has halted and inflicted morale sapping losses/dammage to SU tank destroyers even after an ineffective katuskya barrage.
The blitzkreig type offense in this instance has a weakness readiabbly exploitable and results should be forthcomming if not immeadiately but quickly,but sacrifices must be made for the future of the motherland.

Fairly quite.
A Panther killed a SU-85. Soviet forces seem to be massing in the south, trying to push through the forest. Foolhardy with my Panthers covering the pass.
Stug platoon in the centre V area are under assualt from infantry with a few AFV's supporting. Should hold but may have to pull back. North very quite.

Soviet air units are looking very menacing, and if not for inaccurate runs would have pushed Stugs back.

The town crossroad is indeed a hostile zone. Soviet forces managed to get a foothold in the first few buildings, killing 3 stugs holding the area. Panthers now have to push up to meet. Soviet Tank units continue to take punishment. Several Partisan units uncovered and dealt with. Reclaimed the south V hex's through a lunatic dash. Also have the North. Pincer movement possible on centre then.

Dear commrade in arms,Prime Minister W. CHURCHILL.
NKVD agent and operative 'MOTHER' has reported from the near frontline a critical battle which will determine the future for the soviet and nazi empires with the upcomming winter campaign on the eastern front.
He has reported.bloody fighting for the forward echelons with objectives changing hands several times.German heavy artillary is deciding the current course of the battle with soviet air power making significant contributions to arrest the superior armourments.Numbers again may carry the day as german infantry is lagging behind the forward tank echelons,but superior numbers of german armour is beginnig to decimate the quantities that the russians can muster.The battle is in the balance with both sides thinking they have the advantage.The unknown factor is the attrittion factor.

Very hard fighting. Despite my hard and fast push into the centre area, the Soviets control more V's. This is due to both some creative movement and heavy numbers. Panthers are making them pay for every yard though. In the south some halftraks have been sighted, probaly trying to flank, and are in for a nasty surprise if they do. Soviet airpower has hurt in the north where a Stug platoon was to hold the north V's. They are now in danger of routing. Infantyr nearly caught up and should push Soviets back into the river.

Panthers get shot at with su85 TD's and they still keep on comming ;head on!.With all those hits you would think of some the morale would be sapped or at least some armament damage,no way jose!.82mm mortars thrown into the mix this time but the inexperience is a telling factor.The cats control the battlefield at the moment; when they are dead its the red manpower factor that will get us over the edge;however easier said than done.
KV1's are moving along quite nicely but one just had to stick its head up, the temptation was too much; and guess what,the panthers teamed up for a nice clean head shot,one less to work with.A STUPID CASUALTY [and the only one that turn ]

The southern edge of the territtory has some interesting maneuvers with recon elements [ M5 1/2 tracks and infantry],ambushing and being countered by the not often seen PZII's,you'd think in 10/43 they'd be extinct but the germans were known for their salvage.
The northern objective has been one for the books.Soviet Laggs' and Pe's in ENORMOUSLY SUCCESSFUL in ground attack/support against stugIIIg's which must be heartbreaking to my opposite number.The lack of suitable AA [or correctly positoned] in hindsight has made his attacks that much more difficult to sustain.
Having said all that, in the end the objectives didnt change, not even one flag!.Its a battle of nerves of steel, with partisans thrown into the mix.Turn 7 of 20 Viewers watch this space. its going down to the wire!!.

Just realized you don't need many points this game, as getting heaps in mirror.
This has changed plans. Panthers have had to go pro-active hunting, and are very vulnerable to 3 KV1's sitting in town. Had 4 hits on one for no return. Most of the Soviet infantry in the south has been punished bad. Marder group in North is now mobile after 3 turns of C&C stuff ups (first game ever with it on and i do like it). I think my Arty fire this turn will very effective...

Victory hexes in the north tenuosly owned by the nazi invader, with only one stugIIIg defending the approach road up to the flat treeless hilltop objective.Partisan units have in the course of the battle infiltrated to the east of the north objective beside the hill in a wood and have created and instigated attacks to a rifle company passing through to secure the hilltop inflicting 100% losses to mmgs and 50mm mortars and also effective attrition to each squad.
The central objective after careful movement from the crossroads and dueling between the panthers and KV'S has now been secured at the cost of a moderate amount of material and men.The panthers have pressed withourt any infantry support but are tactically astute in the positiong putting pressure on the central objective and the southern most objective,awaiting a most likely infantry push occouring through the town which will support the offensive.
The fighting on the once open plain southern objective has increased in intensity and the 50/50 ratio of objective flags has this turn increased by one in the motherlands favour.Loss of material and men has been many and varied with smoke,fire and wrecks of all types littering the immeadiate and surrounding areas.I'm glad to say that the sacrifices have not been in vain with the 1st. of 6 panthers biting the dust from combined arms assaults.SU85'S and the centraly located previously mentioned KV1's have all traded blows the the forward panthers, each combatant without loss increasing the pressure cooker atmosphere in that sector.
To the southern edge of the map where the plains and forest intermingle on the steppe, the soviet forces backed by long range SU support and combined smg ,rifle and guard recons on M5 1/2 Tracks have succesfully combated relatively static PzII's and HMG's , utilizing same hex firefight tactics thus assaulting and destroying most of that force now allowing a possibility of a flanking maneuver to the rear german echelons and/or VH'S as one of many options.
Artillary of the germans focused on the soviet rear echelon 82mm mortars. [which obviously has only now had the desired effects upon the targeted panther crews ] and on the KV's and central surrounds with the heavier calibres.Russian arty 82mm mortars again focused on the panthers [as mentioned ]with a katushkya barrage focused at the infantry pressing through the town.
Soviet air targetted rear echelon arty and was LUCKY to arrive home after 88's played target practice.it's still in the balance.

For everybodys benefit it is observed that the German commanders enigma machine has blown a valve and is currently being shipped to Penemunde for repairs.This has changed the nature of "modern warefare" as now we cannot fight each other until repairs are in effect.
