I have my army HQ's 15 hexes away from their corp HQ But is there any advantage to having them closer

yes ...

the value of their leadership score degrades with distance so ideally keep your army close to the corps and your AGrp close to your most important army

the exception to this is that morale rolls have no distance penalty
