Little help with resolution?

Post by Remenents »

Its been a long time since I have played and I did a search and tried everything I could find to get resolution working. I am using -skipVideo -wd –cpu2 –multiaudio -pxf1920 -pyf1080 -altFont -dd_sw and the only thing I have noticed that actually works is the skipVideo command. I am watching a few YouTube channels and theirs games seem to be able to have a higher resolution, but I can not get this darn thing to work. I know I used to have it working, because I recall it being much higher resolution and better looking than it is. Any help? I am at a loss.

I'm no expert on this sort of thing, but are you using a different version of Windows now than you did then?

Type in the following, do NOT copy as you can get the wrong "-" character:

-w -cpu4 -skipVideo -autosave -dd_sw -altFont -pxf1920 -pyf1024 -deepColor -archive

omit any commands you do not wish, this is my command line for an Intel processor ...

Also, have you generated a shortcut straight to the AE exe file?

Other than that mine looks similar to Pax's. (If you install the 1.26b beta the target is sorted out in the new shortcut)
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -wd -skipVideo -deepColor -dd_sw -cpu2 -pxf1872-pyf1053 -archive -altFont -autosave

Thank each one of you for your reply. It would seem I needed to install the Beta and that fixed the issue. Really appreciate it. I didnt even realize there was a Beta.

If you installed v1.26b, it ought have given you a new shortcut that points to the right target.

What I have done that is working for me on Windows 10:

1. Make a shortcut to Exe file that sits on desktop (or taskbar)
2. Right-click on shortcut, and select properties.
3. Text in the Target box line:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -AltFont -deepColor -archive -multiaudio -skipVideo -SingleCpuStart -fd -px1366 -py768

Note: even though I have a bigger monitor, I shrink the pixels because there seems to be no way to adjust the in game panel sizes so they are more readable. Also note make sure you have the correct path to your Matrix Games exe file. Obviously, mine may differ than where you have put yours.
